استقبل رئيس مجلس النواب محمد الحلبوسي، اليوم الاثنين، السفير البريطاني لدى العراق جون ويليكس.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق وبريطانيا وسبل تعزيزها بما يخدم مصالح الشعبين الصديقين.
وأكد سيادته أهمية الدعم الدولي للعراق في ملف الاستثمار وإعادة إعمار المدن التي تعاني نقصا في الخدمات وكذلك المتضررة من الإرهاب، والعمل الحثيث من أجل ضمان عودة العوائل النازحة إليها، مضيفا: "نتطلع إلى مساهمة واسعة من قبل الدول الصديقة وبضمنها بريطانيا في ملفي الإعمار والاستثمار وبما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في البلاد".
ولفت الحلبوسي إلى أن المرحلة المقبلة تتطلب تظافر جهود جميع الدول؛ للوقوف مع العراق الذي خاض حربا مع الإرهاب، فضلا عن أهمية تهيئة كل الظروف والمستلزمات التي تضمن تحقيق تطلعات الشعب العراقي في العيش الكريم والآمن.
من جانبه أكد السفير البريطاني دعم حكومة بلاده للعراق وشعبه وعلى المجالات كافة.

The Speaker receives the British Ambassador
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received, on Monday, the British Ambassador to Iraq Jon Wilks.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
H.E. the Speaker stressed the importance of international support for Iraq regarding the file of investment and reconstruction of cities that suffer from lack of services as well as those affected by terrorism, and work diligently to ensure the return of displaced families to them, adding: "We look forward to a broad contribution by friendly countries, including Britain regarding the files of reconstruction and investment to contribute to the strengthening of security and stability in the country."
Al-Halboosi pointed out that the next phase requires the concerted efforts of all countries to stand with Iraq, which fought a war with terrorism, as well as the importance of creating all the conditions and requirements that ensure the achievement of the aspirations of the Iraqi people in a decent and safe life.
For his part, the British Ambassador confirmed the support of his government to Iraq and its people in all fields.
